Study program by area
The Maestría en Ciencias en Tecnologías de la Computación progam is flexible and the curricular routes will be selected by students in conjunction with a Tutorial Committee, as seen in Figure 1, according to their preferences and vocations.
Figure 1. Study program by KGAL.
The program consists of three areas: Basic, Methodological and Investigative; its structure is shown in Figure 2.
The courses in the basic knowledge area are the so-called core courses of the study program: Mathematics; Theory of Computation; and Analysis and design of algorithms.
The four courses in the methodological area are specific to the Knowledge-Generation-and-Application Line (KGAL), and will be taken during the second and third semesters; the student can select to register two at each of the referred semesters, or take three during the second semester and the remaining one in the third.
With these two scenarios, the study plan is made more flexible because the students, together with their tutorial committee, can conveniently choose the best option for the development of their research work.
The research area is fundamental in this program, since it represents the core around which the other areas are organized, and aims to develop research skills in the students of this program.
